My butterfly milkweed is in full bloom now in my baking-hot front flower garden. I’ve had a hard time finding flowers that will survive in the heat, but these have done well. Now I’m just waiting for some butterflies!

Deb, how long did you have your milkweed before it bloomed?
I bought it as a young plant at a native plant sale, so I don’t know how old it actually was. It bloomed that year, but was pretty splindly. Now that I’ve had it about 3 years, it’s much fuller, and I have lots of tiny ones coming up everywhere. It makes it hard to weed!
